Alopecia- Reasons

As mentioned earlier alopecia, may occur due to possible hormonal imbalance or as a side effect of some medication. Sometimes, pregnancy also causes excessive hair loss. But that is more likely to get ok after the delivery. But in general alopecia can occur due to several reasons. One of them could be a disease that is preventing hair growth. This can happen in both male and female cases. To treat this condition, one needs to go through available therapies like glucocorticoids, topical immunotherapy, anthralin etc. in some cases taking help of these therapies can restore the hair growing mechanism but achieving the peak level of hair growth will still be difficult.

Another reason could be taking place of andogenetic. It refers to thinning of head scalp. Hormonal imbalance could be one of reason behind this phenomenon. Pregnancy, birth control pills etc cause hormonal imbalance and that may further lead to hair thinning. One of the very common reasons is dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It causes great hormonal imbalance and as a result further hair loss. In some cases hair loss is way beyond any treatment.

Chemotherapy sessions can also cause baldness. One of the first steps that need to be taken is to understand your hair pattern. That needs to be followed by going through diagnostic tests. Based on the findings, one can go for appropriate hair loss treatment. We have yet to achieve a perfect hair loss treatment but we can prevent it by taking proper care and treatment. Taking estrogen boosting pills can be one of the options. But it’s always better to consult a trusted medical provider.

Modern Hair Transplant Technique

Hair transplant has become quite a viable option for many people who have to undergo early hair loss and consequently baldness. These days, advance techniques have made this process much easier than earlier eras. Wig is not the only option. Modern times are witnessing natural appearance of hair on the basis of mimicking. Here mimicking refers to copying natural hair in the exact way with the help of modern techniques.

It is believed that hair that reside in sides and back of the scalp are less prone to balding effect. Genetic balding is strongly resisted by these donor hair. The process begins with placing donor hair into thinning and balding areas of the scalp. Thus starts the procedure of replication of native hair in the balding area. The steps include, removing a layer of skin from the back of the scalp. Thereafter, from the designated scalp follicular units are grafted and finally surgeon make these miniscule pin sized holes in the bald area where grafts are transferred.

A follicular unit graft has 1-4 hair follicles. Great caution is needed to exercise during removal process and that’s why a team of specialists dissect these grafts under the microscope. Normally, 5 percent is considered as average rate of hair loss in the process. Consequently, to increase the survival chances of these grafts, they are adequately cooled. Finally comes the process of placement in which three crucial factors are, type of instrument used, site distribution and direction. The combined usage of these factors under the watchful and skilled eyes determines the quality of the final result. This entire process takes several hours and a team of 3-6 people. The whole process is quite safe and affordable. The only possible side effect is shock loss of hair but that’s a temporary one.

Homemade Hair Conditioner

One can make home conditioner in his/her home. Homemade hair conditioners are considered much better than those available in market because of the chemical elements. Conditioners available in market are prone to have huge amount of chemicals in them whereas those made in home are quite pure. Let’s talk about a home conditioner recipe. For that one needs to have the following things,

1 teaspoon of malt vinegar
1 teaspoon of castor oil.
1 teaspoon of glycerin.
1 teaspoon of Indian gooseberry or bacopa oil.

All the above mentioned ingredients have different functions to perform. Malt vinegar is known for restoring acid mantle whereas castor oil provides body to your beautiful hair. Call it herbal oil as Indian gooseberry gives that much needed tonic to your hair and glycerin is very useful in providing moisturize to your hair. One needs to apply shampoo so that these ingredients blend together in an effective way. This mixture needs to be applied before washing your hair and then leave it for 20 minutes.

While applying to the hair, be gentle. After the specified time, wash it with shampoo and clean water. Now, feel the change in your hair texture. There are other home made conditioners as well. Like for dry hair, one can make a mix of henna, oil and warm milk to make a paste. Apply it on hair and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash it with water and feel the wonderful change.

How to deal with split ends?

Split ends are a common problem today. This is because of the increase in the use of chemicals in different hair care products. Also, split ends occur when hair is exposed to extreme temperatures. Also it occurs when hair does not get enough nourishment. This is clichéd but it is true that one of the most common ways to treat split ends is to trim your hair regularly (once in every two months). Beauty experts suggest one should get a hair trim atleast once in forty five days. Hair trimming helps to keep your hair healthy and indeed makes them grow long.

Another precaution that one can take to avoid split ends in the hair is to minimize the use of hot rollers and hair dryers and reduce outings in the afternoon where there is a chance of hair being exposed to harsh sun rays. Try and avoid using hair dryer to dry your hair on a regular basis. Also, avoid using excessive chemicals on your hair especially when coloring your hair. Sometimes, black is beautiful too especially when every other girl is coloring her hair! There are a lot of shampoos, oils, tablets and conditioners that are available in the market that help to treat split ends and make hair healthy. Different treatments suit different hair. You can experiment and choose the best or you can even consult your beautician. It is said that castor oil and honey paste can also be used to treat split ends.
