Hair Care- Right Facts

Many households in India place special emphasis on brushing 100 strokes each day so that hair will grow faster. But in reality, that is going to hurt the hair cuticle so never ever do that. Rather use a comb instead of brush. Vigorous use of brush will cause hair breakage and split ends.

One of the most common myths is cutting your hair frequently will make it grow faster and thicker. Wrong again. The main reason behind this misconception is that compared to tip hair is thicker at base. So having short hair gives it a thick appearance. Hair has a biologically determined growth rate so no frequency of hair cutting is going to bring thickness and length to it. Hair that are limp, fickle or thin will remain that way however one can use volume enhancing hair care products to plump up the hair. One can also use color treatment or hair fattening blunt cut or even texturing perm to enhance the look of the hair.

One frequently believed myth is that sleeping with wet hair will cause scalp fungus. That’s again is wrong. Fungal diseases can not be caught from sleeping with wet scalps. To be in contact with infected sources like tainted hair care tools or humans or animals is the more appropriate reason for getting scalp infection. More so, children are more likely to victim of scalp fungus because of their low immune system.
