As mentioned earlier alopecia, may occur due to possible hormonal imbalance or as a side effect of some medication. Sometimes, pregnancy also causes excessive hair loss. But that is more likely to get ok after the delivery. But in general alopecia can occur due to several reasons. One of them could be a disease that is preventing hair growth. This can happen in both male and female cases. To treat this condition, one needs to go through available therapies like glucocorticoids, topical immunotherapy, anthralin etc. in some cases taking help of these therapies can restore the hair growing mechanism but achieving the peak level of hair growth will still be difficult.

Another reason could be taking place of andogenetic. It refers to thinning of head scalp. Hormonal imbalance could be one of reason behind this phenomenon. Pregnancy, birth control pills etc cause hormonal imbalance and that may further lead to hair thinning. One of the very common reasons is dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It causes great hormonal imbalance and as a result further hair loss. In some cases hair loss is way beyond any treatment.

Chemotherapy sessions can also cause baldness. One of the first steps that need to be taken is to understand your hair pattern. That needs to be followed by going through diagnostic tests. Based on the findings, one can go for appropriate hair loss treatment. We have yet to achieve a perfect hair loss treatment but we can prevent it by taking proper care and treatment. Taking estrogen boosting pills can be one of the options. But it’s always better to consult a trusted medical provider.

Modern Hair Transplant Technique

Hair transplant has become quite a viable option for many people who have to undergo early hair loss and consequently baldness. These days, advance techniques have made this process much easier than earlier eras. Wig is not the only option. Modern times are witnessing natural appearance of hair on the basis of mimicking. Here mimicking refers to copying natural hair in the exact way with the help of modern techniques.

It is believed that hair that reside in sides and back of the scalp are less prone to balding effect. Genetic balding is strongly resisted by these donor hair. The process begins with placing donor hair into thinning and balding areas of the scalp. Thus starts the procedure of replication of native hair in the balding area. The steps include, removing a layer of skin from the back of the scalp. Thereafter, from the designated scalp follicular units are grafted and finally surgeon make these miniscule pin sized holes in the bald area where grafts are transferred.

A follicular unit graft has 1-4 hair follicles. Great caution is needed to exercise during removal process and that’s why a team of specialists dissect these grafts under the microscope. Normally, 5 percent is considered as average rate of hair loss in the process. Consequently, to increase the survival chances of these grafts, they are adequately cooled. Finally comes the process of placement in which three crucial factors are, type of instrument used, site distribution and direction. The combined usage of these factors under the watchful and skilled eyes determines the quality of the final result. This entire process takes several hours and a team of 3-6 people. The whole process is quite safe and affordable. The only possible side effect is shock loss of hair but that’s a temporary one.

For that one needs to have the following things,

How to deal with split ends?

Split ends are a common problem today. This is because of the increase in the use of chemicals in different hair care products. Also, split ends occur when hair is exposed to extreme temperatures. Also it occurs when hair does not get enough nourishment. This is clichéd but it is true that one of the most common ways to treat split ends is to trim your hair regularly (once in every two months). Beauty experts suggest one should get a hair trim atleast once in forty five days. Hair trimming helps to keep your hair healthy and indeed makes them grow long.

Another precaution that one can take to avoid split ends in the hair is to minimize the use of hot rollers and hair dryers and reduce outings in the afternoon where there is a chance of hair being exposed to harsh sun rays. Try and avoid using hair dryer to dry your hair on a regular basis. Also, avoid using excessive chemicals on your hair especially when coloring your hair. Sometimes, black is beautiful too especially when every other girl is coloring her hair! There are a lot of shampoos, oils, tablets and conditioners that are available in the market that help to treat split ends and make hair healthy. Different treatments suit different hair. You can experiment and choose the best or you can even consult your beautician. It is said that castor oil and honey paste can also be used to treat split ends.

Also, getting an extension or a color streak in your short hair gives you an edge of stylishness and sophistication. You are sure on that joy ride to attract a million eye balls and earning some praises and exclamation marks!
It is a myth that short hair look good only on slim girls. Medium hairstyles just gives you a personality change and that too a good one. Above all, it just makes you feel so light that you almost feel you are flying in the sky. So go ahead and get that short hair to beat the heat!

Busting Hair Myths

It has been believed that scalp diseases spread by sharing combs and brushes. Yes, this is true because when you share brushes, combs or other hair care tools there is a fair chance of lice and other parasites getting transported from scalp to scalp. So better to have comb for personal use only. People who often go for color treatment or bridal makeup have this fear that color treatment will cause hair loss. No, this is false because if used properly then there is no chance of occurrence of hair loss. However, one needs to remember that most of the hair color products available in salon or market contain chemicals that can be really dangerous if not used properly.

There is this long existing myth about hair loss if you stand in sun light for long duration. Again, this is far from truth. The reality is hair acts as shield against harsh sun rays. Whenever hair loss occurs it occurs at follicle level. That means, if sun has to do any damage to your hair then it will have to penetrate that depth. It has been often said that, using tight braids or buns or ponytails cause hair loss and ultimately baldness. Yes, this is true and has been found in older African American women. Known as ‘Traction Alopecia’ that is a hair loss condition, it happens because of wearing tight ponytails and braids over a long duration. This causes stress and tension in hair and they start breaking down. So make sure to use looser styles so that there will be less tension and stress in your beautiful hair.

Hair Care- Right Facts

Many households in India place special emphasis on brushing 100 strokes each day so that hair will grow faster. But in reality, that is going to hurt the hair cuticle so never ever do that. Rather use a comb instead of brush. Vigorous use of brush will cause hair breakage and split ends.

One of the most common myths is cutting your hair frequently will make it grow faster and thicker. Wrong again. The main reason behind this misconception is that compared to tip hair is thicker at base. So having short hair gives it a thick appearance. Hair has a biologically determined growth rate so no frequency of hair cutting is going to bring thickness and length to it. Hair that are limp, fickle or thin will remain that way however one can use volume enhancing hair care products to plump up the hair. One can also use color treatment or hair fattening blunt cut or even texturing perm to enhance the look of the hair.

One frequently believed myth is that sleeping with wet hair will cause scalp fungus. That’s again is wrong. Fungal diseases can not be caught from sleeping with wet scalps. To be in contact with infected sources like tainted hair care tools or humans or animals is the more appropriate reason for getting scalp infection. More so, children are more likely to victim of scalp fungus because of their low immune system.

Hair Myths

Hair is one of the most important assets for a human being. Considering that fact and consciousness about hair, hearing lot of myths is no surprise. Normally myths are associated with things that are most endearing to us. The coming posts will take a look at those myths and will provide the correct information.

One of the most popular myths is the more you use shampoo, cleaner will be your hair. Wrong, completely wrong. A blob of shampoo is enough for you unless you have very long hair. In that condition slightly more shampoo will be required, that’s it. So it’s advisable not to waste your shampoo.

Another myth is blow drying causes permanent hair loss. This one is again is not entirely correct. Agreed, by using blow dryers you run the risk of burning or damaging your hair that can further lead to hair fall but there is no permanent fall. Hair will grow back soon.

One myth is about excessive washing of the hair. Few people think that will cause hair loss and dryness but this is false assumption. Recommended frequency is three times a week but you can also wash it as often as you prefer. It is in no way harmful. In fact, you should rather focus on using right shampoo or visiting good hair salons for your hair because that will provide moisture and beauty to your tresses. Many of you think conditioner helps in repairing split ends but that again is not correct. Damaged hair can’t be repaired by using conditioner however what it does is to make your hair smooth and give that ‘feel good’ condition.

Long Hair Tips

Long hair care tips start with styling your hair. You must not use tight braid while styling it because tight braid has been found to cause hair loss and damage. There are several bands in market with specific purpose of hair treatment. Limiting untreated clips, bows and bands is also a good idea to maintain the beauty of your long hair. Long hair demands more attention compared to short hair. Whenever you wash your hair, always try to get rid of all the tangles first. By doing that, you will find process of styling and drying much easier. Another suggestion is, never ever rub your beautiful hair with a towel whenever you dry them. Simply focus on getting the moisture out of the hair. Rubbing your hair with towel results in tangles and hair damage. You should also focus on what type of pillow you use while sleeping because people who move a lot while sleeping tend to break their hair.

Quite a number of us dream of growing our hair long so we just let it grow. But no, that’s not such a good idea. If you allow your hair to just grow on its own, soon split ends will start taking place in your hair. So the better idea is to trim your hair every three months. Another tip is never use a comb on tangled hair. Again, damage and loss of hair is the likely result if you do that. Using combs with wide tooth is a wise idea. Also when hair is entangled, rather use your fingers and start from the tip of the hair towards the roots. Always remember to treat your hair gently because more gentle you are with them, more beautiful they will look.

As one ages, hair also starts changing. In the early age hair, hair tend to be more shiny and glowing but as the time passes like other body parts, the wear and tear of all the years hair also develop dryness and gray color. Children’s hairs are always shiny and well developed because of the growth phase of the hair cycle. Growth phase is also referred as anagen phase in technical terms. Compared to adult hair, children’s hair has more volume. There is a thing called oil glands or sebaceous glands in our head. In case of children these oil glands are quite active and that results into shiny hair. As one grows old, the hair also changes. Add the environmental exposure to the hair and we start getting gray, thinner hair.

The problem of gray or white hair is most common hair problem among adults. Gray hair is also the most prominent change in our hair structure. The reason behind white hair is loss of pigment in the hair. In reality, hair does not change the color with the age but the emergence of light color and dark color hair mixed together give it a gray appearance. We also need to differentiate between gray and white color. People who have red, brown, deep brown or blonde color tend to develop white hair whereas people with darker shades are more likely to have gray hair. The occurrence of gray hair normally takes place during 30s and 40s. Men develop gray hair earlier than women. It is also found that by the age of 75 every person has gray hair.
